Thousands of supporters of former Nasarawa State Governor, Senator Umar Tanko Al-Makura, on Friday poured into the streets of Lafia to give him a grand reception following his successful engagements in Abuja and the confirmation of two major national appointments.
Senator Al-Makura was recently appointed North Central Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative and also reinstated as the National Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC)—a development widely celebrated across Nasarawa State.
The jubilant crowd, comprising youth groups, women associations, political allies, and admirers from across the state, converged at the city’s entry point and escorted the former governor in a long convoy into Lafia.Addressing the supporters, Senator Al-Makura expressed profound gratitude for their overwhelming show of solidarity.
He thanked them for their steadfast support and loyalty over the years.He further urged the people of Nasarawa State to continue to give maximum support and cooperation to the administration of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, stressing that the President is committed to renewing hope and delivering development to Nigerians.
According to him, sustaining unity and collective political support remains crucial for the state to benefit fully from the Renewed Hope Agenda.
