A minor fire incident occurred on Sunday at the Bush Bar section of Paradise Hotel Ombi 2, located along Kwandere Road in Lafia, Nasarawa State, prompting swift intervention from both the Nasarawa State and Federal Fire Services.
The fire, which broke out in the afternoon of November 30, 2025, was attributed to an electrical fault. Managing Director of the hotel, Jonathan U.M, confirmed the incident, describing it as a minor outbreak that was quickly brought under control.
“We had a little fire outbreak at the Bush Bar due to electrical faults. With the help of both the State and Federal Fire Service, they were able to prevent the fire from escalating,” he stated.
According to him, although the hotel had internal fire-control equipment on ground, the dry season heightened the risk of rapid spread, prompting the management to call for reinforcement. “Their swift intervention made all the difference,” he added.
The combined efforts of the hotel’s fire-fighting team and professional firefighters ensured the situation was fully contained with minimal damage. No casualties were recorded.
“Thank God everything has been normalised now, and we also thank God there is no life lost and not much damage or loss at the inferno,” the Managing Director confirmed.
In a statement signed by the hotel’s Public Relations Officer, Faith A.M, and made available to newsmen, management announced that normal business operations have resumed.
The statement further assured guests and patrons of their safety, noting that enhanced electrical inspections and upgraded fire-safety measures have been put in place to prevent a recurrence.
“We sincerely appreciate the gallant efforts of the Nasarawa State and Federal Fire Services, security agencies, neighbours, and well-wishers who supported us during the incident. Management remains committed to the highest safety standards and regrets any inconvenience caused,” the statement read.
