The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau, has called for sustained religious tolerance, peace, and unity among the diverse ethnic and religious groups in the state, stressing that no meaningful development can be achieved without harmony.
Dr. Jatau made the call during his investiture as the Grand Patron of the Boys’ Brigade Nigeria, Agwada Battalion Council, held at the ECWA Church, Agwada Area Administrative Council.The event, described as a recognition of the Speaker’s support for religious development and youth moral upbringing, also featured the presentation of a certificate and symbol of authority to Dr. Jatau by the State President of the Boys’ Brigade Nigeria, Hon. Akolo Success Ahmed.
In his acceptance remarks, the Speaker expressed gratitude for the honour and pledged continued support for the activities of the Boys’ Brigade, particularly in building disciplined, responsible, and morally upright young people.He further urged the church to intensify efforts in shaping the character of children, noting that the future of society depends on the quality of values instilled in them.
Before the official decoration, Dr. Jatau inspected the battalion’s quarter guards, where he encouraged members to remain steadfast in preaching peace, unity, and the gospel of Christ. The Speaker also paid a royal homage visit to the palace of the Osu Agwada, where he received royal blessings ahead of the ceremony.
