Federal Government is committed to bring an end of the current insecurity rocking the Country.

The Minister for Defence, Alhaji Badaru Abubakar has said while Speaking as Chairman of an annual general meeting of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Alumni held at the Institution's Assembly Hall at the weekend.

He pointed out that many Success were recorded by the nation's armed forces where many Terrorists or bandits were eliminated.

"Minister said, the present administration is working tirelessly in ensuring security of lives and property of every Nigerians is guaranteed." He said 

Alh Abubakar described event as home coming to all the Alumni members and prayed to wonderful reunion.

Former of Plateau State, Senator Simon Bako Lalong said his Lecture as Guest Speaker that the Legacy of universities such as ABU continued to shape Nigeria's intellectual, social and civic landscape, and it is the responsibility of alumni to ensure that this legacy translates into tangible national transformation.

He urged the Alumni members to reaffirm their commitment to a united, peaceful and prosperous Nigeria where education remain the cornerstone of national progress and development.

Sanator Lalong further said that Nigeria's progress was inherently tied to the collective responsibility of its citizens to poster unity, development and good governance.

He maintained that alumni associations occupied a strategic position to influence national transformation through their networks, expertise and social capital.

Earlier in his welcome address the National President of the Alumni Association Malam Adamu Mamma Kontagora Barden Kontagora expressed appreciation for the successful hosting the Pre-AGM Lecture .
 
He said, the present of highly placed personalities such as Minister of Defence and Senator Simon Bako Lalong and His Highness the emir of Zazzau Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli is a very honour to have them despite their tight schedules.
