Agara Meets Kogi Christian Elders At Prayer Congress, Stresses Importance of Inter-Denominational Harmony

Agara Represents APC National Chairman at Two-Day Inter-Denominational Prayer Congress in Ankpa

The Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Dr. Silas Ali Agara, on Tuesday joined Christian leaders and stakeholders at a two-day National Prayer Congress organised by the Kogi East Christian Elders Forum Association.

The event, held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ankpa, brought together prominent Christian figures from Kogi State and across the Middle Belt, with prayers focused on political stability, economic recovery, and national peace.

Dr. Agara attended the gathering on behalf of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nantawe Yilwatda, leading a delegation that included former Plateau State Senator Istifanus Dung Gyang and other dignitaries.

In his remarks, Agara urged Christians in Kogi and nationwide to remain steadfast in prayer as the country confronts socio-economic challenges. 

He emphasized the urgent need for unity within the body of Christ, irrespective of political or ethnic differences, in supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“As a nation, we must brace ourselves for the challenges ahead and continue to pray for God’s restoration of peace and prosperity,” Agara said.

The congress, themed “God Is Our Refuge and Strength,” also featured a paper presentation by Dr. Bitrus Pogu, President of the Middle Belt Forum, titled “Politics in the Middle Belt: The Way Forward.”

The Kogi East Christian Elders Forum Association is a key faith-based body known for mobilising inter-denominational Christian advocacy and engaging regional stakeholders on issues affecting the socio-political landscape of Kogi East.
