The Union for Change 2025 has declared Issa Tchiroma Bakary as the winner of Cameroon’s presidential election held on October 12, 2025.
According to the party’s official statement, results from across the country and abroad indicate that Issa Tchiroma Bakary, described as the “People’s Consensus Candidate,” emerged victorious with between 60% and 80% of the votes in several polling stations.
Despite what the party referred to as “the traditional machinery of electoral fraud” allegedly used by the ruling party, the Rassemblement Démocratique du Peuple Camerounais (RDPC), the statement asserted that Issa Tchiroma Bakary achieved a “resounding victory” over the RDPC candidate.
The Union for Change urged the outgoing president to congratulate the winner promptly and called on administrative authorities as well as security forces to respect the will of the people.
The party further encouraged Cameroonians to remain vigilant and united in defending their democratic choice and the victory of Issa Tchiroma Bakary.
The declaration was signed in Douala by Anicet Ekane and Djeukam Tchameni, on behalf of the Union for Change 2025.
