The newly appointed substantive Provost of the Nasarawa State College of Education, Akwanga, Dr. Barau Nuhu Barnabas, has officially received his appointment letter from the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barrister Labaran Shuaibu Magaji, PhD, SAN.

The presentation ceremony took place at the SSG’s office in Lafia, where Barrister Magaji formally handed over the appointment letter to Dr. Barnabas on behalf of the State Government.

Governor Abdullahi A. Sule recently approved the appointment of Dr. Barau Nuhu Barnabas as the substantive Provost of the institution, following the recommendation of the Governing Council chaired by Hon. Bulus Moyi. 

The appointment came after a rigorous selection process and an interview exercise conducted for all applicants.

Barrister Magaji, while presenting the letter, congratulated Dr. Barnabas on his well-deserved appointment and charged him to justify the confidence reposed in him by the Governor and the Governing Council.

He urged the new Provost to bring his wealth of experience, professionalism, and leadership acumen to bear in repositioning the College for greater academic excellence and institutional growth.

Dr. Barnabas, in his response, appreciated Governor Sule and the Governing Council for the trust bestowed upon him, promising to work diligently with all stakeholders to advance the mission and vision of the College.

The ceremony was witnessed by senior government officials and representatives from the education sector.
