Attorney General Warns Against Politicizing Religion, Commends Governor Sule for Promoting Peace

The Nasarawa State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Isaac Danladi, has cautioned against the politicization of religion, warning that such acts could lead to unnecessary tension and division within society.

Barr. Danladi gave the advice when he received the leadership of the Fityanul Islam of Nigeria, Lafia Local Government Branch, led by Alhaji Abubakar Umar, during a courtesy visit to the Justice House, Lafia.

He commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for his unwavering commitment to peace, unity, and religious harmony across the state.

 “We thank God that here in Nasarawa State, we don’t have religious crisis because we all see ourselves as one family, irrespective of our faith or background,”
Barr. Danladi stated.

The Attorney General urged religious organizations to continue to serve as agents of peace, morality, and social stability, noting that Nasarawa State has become a model of peaceful coexistence under Governor Sule’s inclusive governance.

Also present during the visit were the Permanent Secretary and Directors of the Ministry of Justice, who joined the Attorney General in receiving the delegation at the Justice House, Lafia.

On his part, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Mohammed Adi, appreciated the visit and thanked the delegation for identifying with the ministry, assuring them of continued partnership in promoting justice and unity.

Earlier, the Chairman of Fityanul Islam, Lafia Branch, Alhaji Abubakar Umar, said the visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration with the Ministry of Justice in fostering peace and mutual understanding among adherents of different faiths.

“We are in this ministry to seek collaboration with you in promoting religious tolerance,”
Alhaji Umar stated, pledging the organization’s continued support for the government’s peacebuilding initiatives.

The Fityanul Islam delegation included Mallam Dahiru Musa (Vice Chairman), Isa Umar (Secretary), Suleiman Suleiman Umar (Treasurer), and Aliyu Mustapha (Organizing Secretary).
