Balarabe, Fed Poly Damaturu Council Chair, Pledges Institutional Growth As He Inspects Ongoing Administrative Block Renovation

Chairman of the Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Yobe State, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has restated his commitment to transforming the institution’s fortunes and aligning its facilities with international best practices.

Balarabe, a former Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, expressed delight over the quality and progress of the ongoing renovation of the administrative block, including the Rector’s office, Council Chamber, and the Assistant Rector’s office.

Speaking during an inspection visit on Wednesday, he commended the innovative design of the project and applauded the institution’s Rector, Dr. Ibrahim Bello Bashir, for his dedication and proactive leadership.

“I am impressed with the pace and quality of work. I urge you to sustain this momentum,” Balarabe said, as captured in a statement by Muhammad Nura Nguru (MNIPR), Head of Information and Public Relations of the institution.

He emphasized the need for stronger collaboration among key players in the education sector to achieve the Federal Government’s blueprint for transforming education. 

Balarabe assured that under his leadership, the Governing Council would continue to give the management all necessary support and constructive guidance to drive excellence in service delivery.

The Council Chairman also urged Nigerians to pray for and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to succeed in its educational reforms and other national initiatives.

Rector Dr. Ibrahim Bello Bashir, in his remarks, appreciated the Governing Council’s continuous support and detailed the renovation plan, which is structured in two phases.

According to him, the first phase focuses on upgrading the Rector’s office, Council Chamber, and Assistant Rector’s office, with provisions for an expanded waiting area and additional toilets. 

He disclosed that the second phase would soon commence and would target renovations in the Registry, Bursary, and Audit departments.

During the inspection, Balarabe was accompanied by other council members, including Hon. Mustapha Shehu Zirami, Prof. Ebenezer Akinnawo, Abdullahi Hamza, Kaltum Zirami, Muhammed Tokollee Nasir, and Dr. Lawan Cheri. Also present were key management staff of the institution such as Bursar Ismail Muhammad, Registrar Muazu Aliyu Ilyasu, and Special Assistant to the Rector Suleiman Zubair Abdullahi.

The Council Chairman reiterated his resolve to continue working with all stakeholders to ensure that Federal Polytechnic Damaturu remains a model of academic and administrative excellence.
