Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau, has received a strong endorsement from his immediate community in Bassa District, Kokona Local Government Area, to contest for the Keffi/Kokona/Karu Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general election.

Dr. Jatau, who currently represents Kokona West Constituency, expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him, describing the call to serve at the Green Chamber as a testimony to his performance as Speaker and legislator.

“I appreciate you for the visit and for calling on me to contest for the House of Representatives seat come 2027. I will answer your calls at the appropriate time when the process begins as stipulated by law,” he said while receiving the Hon. Danladi Jatau Gida Gida Support Group in his Lafia office.

Reaffirming his commitment to public service, Jatau noted, “Service to humanity has been my passion since childhood. I will continue to work to improve the standard of living of our people.”

The Speaker further assured the group that Governor Abdullahi Sule would soon commence the construction of the Garaku–Bassa road to boost agricultural and socio-economic activities in the area.

“By God’s grace, His Excellency will construct the Bassa road which is in a dilapidated state and affecting the activities of our people. Let’s continue to pray and support his administration to succeed,” Jatau added.

He urged residents to embrace peace, tolerance, and support for the government, stressing that leadership is a divine responsibility.

Earlier, the group’s chairman, Mr. Ayuba Dodo, and the women’s representative, Mrs. Ruth Adigizi, commended the Speaker’s leadership, citing his achievements in employment generation, empowerment, education, and agriculture.

They pledged to mobilize massive support across the three local government areas to ensure Jatau’s victory in 2027 and reaffirmed their loyalty to his political aspiration.

The group also appealed to Governor Sule to prioritize the construction of the Garaku–Bassa road to enhance the area’s economic and agricultural growth.
