Cleric Tasks Couples on Ethics of Marriage as Hon. Dogara Gives Out Daughter in Wamba

Couples have been urged to strictly adhere to the ethics and guiding principles of marriage in order to sustain peace, harmony, and divine blessings in their homes.

The Chief Imam of Wamba Central Mosque, Mallam Muhammad Surajo, gave the admonition on Saturday during the wedding fatiha of Hauwa’u, daughter of Hon. Aliyu Dogara, former member representing Wamba Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, and her groom, Abdulmalik Adamu.
The ceremony, which took place at the palace of the Oriye Rindre, His Royal Highness, Retired Justice Lawal Musa Nagogo, drew dignitaries from across the state and beyond. Attendees included the Immediate Past Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly and Chairman, Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, former House of Representatives member Hon. Abdulkarim Usman Ombamas, serving and former legislators, the Commissioner for Agriculture Hon. Umar Tanko Tunga, and the Chairman of Obi Local Government, Hon. Sani Isa Keke, among others.

The Islamic cleric, after announcing the payment of N250,000 as dowry and the fulfillment of other marital rites, pronounced Princess Hauwa’u Aliyu Dogara and Abdulmalik Adamu husband and wife. He emphasized that strict observance of marriage principles guarantees blessings and strengthens family life.

Speaking at the event, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi and HRH Justice Lawal Musa Nagogo (Rtd), Oriye Rindre of Wamba, described marriage as both a religious obligation and a sacred institution for promoting peace, unity, and social cohesion among citizens.

Director General of the Nasarawa State Pension Board, Suleiman Musa Nagogo, speaking on behalf of the Wamba traditional institution, appreciated guests for gracing the occasion and wished them safe journeys back to their destinations. Prayers were also offered for the peace and prosperity of Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large.

The colourful event was further enlivened by praise singers who entertained the gathering.
