More commendations have continued to trail the recent appointment of Dr. Nuradeen Mua'azu Maifata as the substantive Rector of Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic (IMAP), Lafia by Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule.

Various groups, associations, and individuals have praised the governor for what they described as a strategic, merit-based, and people-oriented appointment aimed at strengthening the leadership and academic direction of the institution.

Among those who have expressed satisfaction with the decision are the IMAP Polytechnic community, the Concerned Citizens for Good Leadership, and several civil society organizations, who added their voices during interactions with a RimawaGlobalNews correspondent in Lafia.

Representatives of the Polytechnic community lauded the governor for identifying a seasoned academic and administrator with a proven track record of performance and integrity.

“This appointment reflects His Excellency’s deep commitment to advancing education in Nasarawa State. Dr. Maifata is a competent technocrat who understands the challenges and potential of the institution. We are confident he will reposition IMAP for academic and infrastructural excellence,” a senior academic staff member said.

The Concerned Citizens for Good Leadership, in a statement signed by its convener, also hailed the appointment, describing it as a step in the right direction. “Dr. Maifata’s emergence is a product of merit and vision. We commend Governor Sule for prioritizing competence over politics,” the group noted.

Other civil society actors who spoke with RimawaGlobalNews emphasized that the appointment sends a strong signal that the state government is focused on consolidating gains in the education sector through qualified leadership.
