The Civil Defense Officers’ Wives Association (CDOWA), Nasarawa State Chapter, has paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Isaac Danladi, to commend his efforts and seek strategic collaboration on women-focused empowerment and security initiatives.
During the visit, CDOWA expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Attorney General for his unwavering commitment to championing the rights of the less privileged and addressing various forms of abuse in the state.
They acknowledged his continued advocacy for justice, equity, and social protection, particularly for vulnerable groups.
Led by its executives, the association highlighted its core mission, which centers on promoting the welfare of families within the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), uplifting the lives of the underprivileged and persons with disabilities, and empowering women through sustainable programs.
A key highlight of the visit was CDOWA’s proposal for collaboration on its flagship project , the Gallant Women Driver Initiative.
The project aims to equip women with professional driving skills, basic intelligence gathering techniques, and tactical self-defense training.
According to the association, the pilot phase will commence with 20 beneficiaries at a training cost of ₦200,000 per participant.
In his response, the Honourable Attorney General, Barr. Isaac Danladi, lauded CDOWA for its progressive efforts in championing women’s empowerment and promoting safety in communities.
He assured the association of the Ministry's support and encouraged them to submit a formal proposal for the initiative.
“I commend CDOWA for your tireless efforts toward empowering women and reducing crime through preventive strategies. Your Gallant Women Driver project is timely and aligns with our broader goal of community security and justice. We look forward to reviewing your formal submission for possible partnership,” Barr. Danladi stated.
The visit marks another step toward strengthening collaboration between the Nasarawa State Ministry of Justice and civil society groups working to promote inclusive development and security at the grassroots.
