The Acting Governor of Nasarawa State, Dr. Emmanuel Agwadu Akabe, on Saturday led key government functionaries to the official commissioning of the Zumunta Association of Nigeria’s Vocational Training Centre at the WCAI facility in Lafia.

The well-attended event featured the presence of the State Commissioner for Education, Dr. John D.W. Mamman; the Commissioner for Science and Technology; and the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, alongside other dignitaries and stakeholders.
Dr. Akabe, while delivering his remarks, applauded the Zumunta Association for its forward-thinking initiative aimed at empowering youth and women through practical skill acquisition.

He noted that such efforts complement the state government’s drive to reduce unemployment and promote self-reliance.
Also in attendance was Wing Commander Abdullahi Ibrahim (Rtd.), a prominent figure in the association, who acknowledged the support of the state government and encouraged more partnerships that promote grassroots development.

The vocational centre is designed to offer specialized training in areas such as tailoring, ICT, catering, hairdressing, and other relevant skills, targeting unemployed youths and vulnerable groups across the state.
