A political pressure group has once again thrown its weight behind the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Community Development in Nasarawa State, Hon. Aminu Mua’azu Maifata, urging him to contest for the House of Representatives seat in 2027 to represent Lafia/Obi Federal Constituency.
The endorsement was made during a meeting of the group’s members held in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, where they unanimously described Maifata’s anticipated aspiration as a “rescue mission” aimed at restoring quality representation, inclusive governance, and people-driven development in the constituency.
Spokesperson of the group, Mallam Yusuf Danbaba, noted that the call was inspired by Hon. Maifata’s impressive leadership record, commitment to grassroots empowerment, and his strategic role in advancing community development across Lafia and Obi LGAs.
“Maifata has consistently demonstrated capacity, humility, and a deep understanding of governance.
His emergence as a federal lawmaker would be a timely intervention for our people, especially at this critical period.
It is not just a political ambition, it is a rescue mission,” Danbaba declared.
The group also assured Maifata of their total support and readiness to mobilize across all political wards, should he heed the call to serve.
Although Hon. Maifata has not officially declared his interest in the 2027 race, mounting endorsements from various stakeholders, including youth groups, traditional institutions, and women organizations, continue to signal growing momentum behind his possible candidacy.
