The General Manager of the Nasarawa State Water Board, Ahmed Abubakar Kana, has called for a strategic collaboration between the Water Board and the Ministry of Justice in a bid to strengthen legal frameworks, promote compliance, and ensure the smooth operation of water-related services across the state.
Kana made the call during a courtesy and working visit to the office of the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Isaac Danladi, in Lafia, the state capital.
The GM stressed the importance of legal backing in driving reforms within the water sector, particularly in areas of dispute resolution, regulatory enforcement, and institutional restructuring.
“There is a need for synergy between our institutions, especially as we work to improve service delivery and ensure adherence to due process in all our operations,” Kana stated.
Responding, the Attorney General, Barr. Isaac Danladi, welcomed the visit and described the initiative as timely and necessary.
He assured the Water Board of the Ministry’s full support in providing legal guidance, drafting watertight regulations, and defending the Board’s interests where needed.
“This collaboration is vital, not just for the Water Board, but for the overall governance architecture of the state. We are committed to offering all necessary legal assistance to ensure the Board operates within the ambit of the law,” Barr. Danladi noted.
He lauded Professor Kana’s proactive leadership and emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation in achieving Governor Abdullahi Sule’s development agenda.
The meeting concluded with both parties expressing optimism about the renewed partnership and its potential to yield significant results for the people of Nasarawa State.
