The Nasarawa State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Isaac Danladi, and the State Head of Civil Service, Barr. Abigail Waya, on Tuesday, participated in the inaugural ceremony of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) Alumni Association’s National Executive Council and the official launch of the Trust Fund for the Legacy Project.
The event held at the Taal Conference Hotel, Lafia.
Governor Abdullahi A. Sule, who was unavoidably absent, was represented by Barr. Abigail Waya, who conveyed the governor’s goodwill to the new alumni leadership and expressed confidence in their capacity to take the association to greater heights.
In her remarks, Barr. Waya said:
“Let me first congratulate the outgoing executives for sustaining the association thus far, and also extend my heartfelt congratulations to the new executive members.
By the strength and confidence I see in the new leadership, I believe this association will grow from strength to strength.”
She emphasized the importance of alumni networks in fostering unity, growth, and mutual advancement, noting that:
“The essence of this association is to connect, collaborate, and uplift one another through the journey of life.”
Also speaking at the event, the Honorable Attorney General, Barr. Isaac Danladi, expressed gratitude for the invitation and acknowledged the dual significance of the occasion — the inauguration of the new national executive council and the launch of the trust fund for legacy projects.
In his words: “As an alumnus in waiting — since I am currently pursuing a PhD at NSUK — I feel deeply connected.
He congratulated the newly inaugurated officials, urging them to uphold the oath of office and loyalty they had sworn to, while pledging his personal support to the legacy project initiative.
“In view of my position, I will be making a personal donation — though undisclosed — to support the trust fund. I invite the leadership to meet with me after the event for the presentation,” Barr. Danladi stated.
The event was marked by high-level attendance from alumni, academia, and public servants, all united in a shared vision of enhancing NSUK's legacy through collaborative investment and leadership.
