Governor Sule Commends Bawa’s ₦50M Fertiliser Boost for Akwanga Farmers

Hon. Larry‑Ven Bawa, Chief Whip of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has distributed two truckloads of fertiliser,valued at approximately ₦50 million, as part of the third edition of his Annual Value‑Addition Agricultural Empowerment Scheme.

The governor described the programme as a “performance-driven model” that positively impacts farmers, especially during the rainy season .

Sule Urges Legislature to Emulate Bawa’s Performance-Based Governance

Governor Abdullahi Sule, who officiated the distribution ceremony in Andaha, urged legislators across Nasarawa to adopt similar community-focused initiatives. He emphasized,

“I pay no attention to party but performance… Your performance is speaking for you and will campaign for you in the next election.”

Bawa Reinforces Food Security, Empowers Farmers

Recognizing that 99% of his constituency relies on agriculture, Mr. Bawa said the initiative aims to bolster food security, increase farm incomes, and complement Governor Sule’s broader agricultural policies. He pledged to maintain his commitment:

“This programme has come to stay. We are reliable, dependable, accessible and trustworthy.”

Community Leaders Express Appreciation and Electoral Support

Akwanga LGA Chairman (also ALGON State Chairman) Hon. Safiyanu Isa Andaha and Commissioner Yakubu Kwanta praised Bawa’s performance, stating, “Akwanga has never had it so good.

" Representatives Jeremiah Umaru and Abubakar Hassan Nalaraba expressed gratitude to Governor Sule and highlighted the consistent impact of Bawa’s fertiliser distributions . Community figures, including Engr. James Bashayi and Isa Maikasuwa, pledged grassroots backing for his 2027 re-election .

Political Endorsement for Sule’s 2027 Senate Bid

Traditional and political leaders—Chunn Mada, J.J. Umaru, Hon. Yakubu Kwanta, Abubakar Hassan Na Laraba, and others—unanimously endorsed Governor Sule for the Nasarawa North Senate seat in 2027. Several attendees pledged to sponsor his nomination form .

Notable dignitaries present included Commissioners Dr. Ibrahim Tanko (Information, Culture & Tourism) and Barr. David Moyi (Lands), HRH Samson Gamu Yare, Prof. Muhammad Sani Haruna, and multiple APC gubernatorial aspirants .
