The Immediate Past Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly and Chairman Governing Council, Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has called for enhanced collaboration between Local Government executives, legislators, and critical stakeholders to fast-track development at the grassroots level.
Rt. Hon. Balarabe, who holds the traditional title of Wali Opanda, made the call when he hosted a delegation comprising the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Toto Local Government Area, the Council Secretary, elected Councilors, and APC Ward Chairmen from his Umaisha/Ugya constituency at his residence in Gwagwalada Area Council, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The engagement, which spanned two days, saw Balarabe Abdullahi host elected Councilors across the 12 Electoral Wards of Toto LG on Tuesday, followed by an exclusive session with the six APC Ward Chairmen from Umaisha/Ugya constituency on Wednesday.
In his remarks, Balarabe Abdullahi urged the party officials and grassroots leaders to remain united, promote peace and work in synergy to ensure sustainable development within their communities.
He stressed the importance of promoting the APC’s ideology at the grassroots to consolidate the party’s strength ahead of future elections.
The former Speaker lauded Governor Abdullahi Sule for his sterling leadership and developmental strides across the state, calling on the people to give the Governor unwavering support to enable him build upon the solid foundations already laid.
“We must continue to promote peace and unity in our communities and support the government of His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Sule, to ensure more dividends of democracy reach our people,” Balarabe said.
The visiting delegation, led by the Toto LG APC Chairman, commended Rt. Hon. Balarabe Abdullahi for his consistent leadership and selfless contributions to the development of the area and the APC.
They described the visit as a show of solidarity and a Sallah homage, praying for continued divine guidance and success in all his endeavors.
