Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau, has reiterated his commitment to inclusive leadership, peace, unity, and good governance in the state.
Dr. Jatau made this known during a mini-reception organized in his honor to celebrate his recent PhD attainment.
The event, held in Lafia, was sponsored by Hon. Dr. Hajarat Danyaro Ibrahim, member representing Nasarawa Central Constituency.
While addressing members of the 7th Assembly, Speaker Jatau expressed deep appreciation for their unwavering support, describing the current Assembly as the most united and collaborative in the state's legislative history.
"I want to sincerely thank all of you for the support you’ve given me. It has enabled us to pass impactful resolutions and bills that benefit our people," he said. "Let us continue to support His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Sule, in delivering the dividends of democracy."
Dr. Jatau also took time to reflect on the personal challenges he faced during his doctoral journey, thanking God for granting him the strength to complete the program. "There were moments I nearly gave up, but I remained encouraged and thankful for the success," he noted.
The Speaker reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to enacting laws that promote progress, unity, and responsible governance across Nasarawa State.
Hon. Dr. Hajarat Danyaro Ibrahim, in her remarks, described the Speaker as a trailblazer, noting that he is the first to attain a PhD while serving as Speaker in the history of the State Assembly.
She said this milestone inspired her to organize the celebration.
Other lawmakers, including Majority Leader Hon. Suleiman Yakubu Azara and Hon. Musa Ibrahim Abubakar, congratulated the Speaker and pledged their continued loyalty and cooperation under his leadership.
Speaker Jatau prayed for his colleagues’ success and expressed hope that they would all return for the 8th Assembly, as he commended their dedication to legislative excellence.
