In a bold move to tackle water scarcity, the only female lawmaker in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Dr. Hajarat Danyaro Ibrahim, has reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring access to potable water across all seven electoral wards of Nasarawa Central Constituency before the end of her tenure.

Dr. Danyaro, who also chairs the House Committee on Women Affairs, made this known over the weekend during the flag-off of two new borehole projects under her flagship Tafisu Rural Water Scheme. The projects are sited at Gangaren Bage in Nasarawa Central Ward and Kofar Alhaji Ashata in Nasarawa Main Town Ward.

The lawmaker emphasized that the initiative is part of her campaign promise to drill one borehole per ward, a promise she has almost fulfilled with six out of seven wards now benefiting from the ongoing water scheme.

“In less than two years, I have successfully drilled six boreholes, and we are not stopping here. More communities will benefit as I work to ensure every household in my constituency has access to clean, potable water,” she said.

Dr. Danyaro described the water intervention as a critical step in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people and thanked her constituents for their unwavering support. She assured them of a responsive and inclusive representation focused on addressing basic needs.

Residents of the benefiting communities commended the lawmaker for her people-oriented projects and pledged their continued support and prayers for her to succeed beyond 2027.
