A Member Kaduna State House of Assembly representing Zaria City Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Education, Barrister Mahmoud Lawal aka Bola Ige has awarded Scholarship to 10 diploma in Qur'anic reciters to Study Qur'anic Science.
He made the announcement when he attended the closing ceremony of Qur'anic Recitation Competition (Musabaka) of the JIBWIS National Headquarters, Jos, which took place at the Zaria Youth Center as Special Guest of Honour on Wednesday.
Barr Bola Ige pointed out the total sum of 500,000 has been airmarked for payment of the beneficiaries' registration.
He said he was elated by competitors' exceptional performances, as they secured many accolades: overall best in the 1st category, 3rd place in the 2nd category, and 1st place in the 40 Hifz category.
The legislature pointed out that hence the need for him to encourage and motivate them by cash gift of d N100,000.00 to the three student beside the scholarship.
The member stated the beneficiaries will be admitted for the proposed Studentship at ELSA College of Advanced Studies, an affiliate of Kaduna State University (KASU)
"I assured you of our commitment to supporting your educational endeavors and ensuring your full participation in all related activities." He said.
