The sporadic kidnapping and killings of people, especially the youth, in Lafia, the capital city of Nasarawa State, have raised serious concerns among citizens and residents.

Recently, alarmed individuals took to various social media platforms, calling for immediate security interventions.

Residents have expressed their frustration and fear, urging the Nasarawa State government to reassess the security arrangements in Lafia and its surrounding areas.

The growing frequency of kidnappings for ransom has led to devastating losses of life and has financially crippled many families who are forced to pay hefty ransoms almost daily.

Critics emphasize that it is the constitutional duty of the government to protect the lives and properties of its citizens.

The rising number of unresolved kidnapping cases in Lafia is eroding public trust in the security agencies, leaving citizens feeling unsafe even within their own homes.

Many are now urging Governor Abdullahi Sule to take swift and decisive action to address the insecurity that has turned Lafia into a hotbed of kidnappings.

Calls have been made for a comprehensive review of the state's security architecture, with an emphasis on increasing the presence, visibility, and effectiveness of security agencies in the capital.

The current situation in Lafia is described as frightening, with residents living in constant fear of kidnappers, and the existing security measures failing to inspire confidence.

Citizens are demanding prompt government intervention before the situation deteriorates further.
