Gov Inuwa takes investment drive to Morocco, speaks of state's potentials in fertilizer production

Gombe state Gov. Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya has sought collaboration with Moroccan largest Fertilizer productio company in the area of fertilizer production for sustainable agriculture activity n Gombe State.

The visit which is part of his investment drive took the Governor and his entourage to the Office of Chérifien des Phosphates (OCP) in Morocco where he spoke on the need for the company to investment in Gombe State. 

Rimawaglobalnews reports that OCP is the world’s largest producer of phosphate-based fertilizers and a global leader in sustainable agriculture.

This is part of the government’s strategic push to partner with global agricultural leaders to boost the agricultural production system.

He said Gombe Government also plans to promote the processing industry and encourage inclusive growth, and economic prosperity.

OCP, established in 1920, is the world’s largest exporter of raw phosphate. It has extensive operations that spans mining, processing, and fertiliser production.

It offers customised fertilisers that are tailored to meet specific agricultural needs.

The state government is keen on exploring various partnership options with OCP.
These include fertiliser, renewable energy development, technical support and investment opportunities for farmers and businessmen.

During the visit, Governor Yahaya emphasized the importance of this partnership for the agrarian state where over 80 per cent of the population are farmers. End
