Former Senate President Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki has expressed his condolences to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, following the passing of the 11th Balogun Gambari of Ilorin Emirate, Alhaji Abdulkareem Laaro Buhari. Alhaji Laaro, aged 97, passed away on Friday and was laid to rest in Ilorin according to Islamic rites.
Dr Saraki, who holds the title of Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin, also offered sympathies to the immediate family and the wider Balogun Gambari community.
In a statement released by his Press Officer on Home Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, Saraki described Alhaji Laaro's death as a significant loss to both his family and the Ilorin Emirate community.
"The death of Alhaji Abdulkareem Laaro Buhari, the 11th Balogun Gambari of Ilorin, is a great loss to the family and the entire Ilorin Emirate community.
He will be remembered for his leadership qualities, community development initiatives, and wise counsel," Saraki remarked.
He continued by acknowledging Alhaji Laaro as a revered figure who dedicated his life to service and religious leadership. Saraki concluded with a prayer for comfort and forgiveness for the deceased, urging Allah to grant him Aljanah Firdaus.
