The Yagwamawa Fulani Association of Nigeria (YFAN), is found to partner with the existing Fulani Associations to achieve the same objective of tackling the prevailing insecurity among the Pastorists.
The National President of the Association, Alhaji Mohammed Adamu Lapai disclosed this during a courtesy call to the Commissioner of Police in Niger State Cp Ebenezer Shawulu Danmaman in his office on Friday.
He said the YFAN as a none partisan and non governmental organization NGO was established and registered through the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) aimed at working in collaboration with the relevant security agencies towards curtailing the insecurity within the pastoralists Communities within and outside the state.
According to the National President, the association will partner with the state police command and other relevant Security agencies in the state to fight crime and criminality among the Fulanis adding the association will fish out bad eggs among them and handed over to the security agencies for necessary action.
Alhaji Muhammad Adamu who expressed concern on the increasing rate of armed bandits cattle rustling among the Fulanis described the trend as disturbing and worrisome stressing that the act has brought bad image to the Fulani nation.
Speaking further, the National President of the association told the Commissioner of Police that the association under his leadership give priority attention on education and skill aqcusition to the youths to reduce crime and criminality among the Fulani youths.
Also speaking, the National Secretary of YFAN, Ibrahim Adamu Zango applauded the state Commissioner of Police for his determination in curtailing the Insecurity and other heinous crime in Niger state.
He disclosed that the association will ever Continue to appreciate the command under his leadership for checkmating youth restiveness in Minna and its environs since he assumed office.
He assured the Commissioner of Police of the association preparedness to collaborate with the command and other relevant Security agencies in the state to ensure the security of lives and property of the people.
Recieving the association in his office the Commissioner of Police Cp Ebenezer Shawulu Danmaman commended the leadership of the association for finding time out of their tight schedule to visit the Command.
He said the command Under his watch will continue to work with relevant organization of like mind in bringing about peace and security in the state disclosing that security is everybody business.
He appealed to his visitors to always channel their griviance to the appropriate authority to seek for Justice instead of taking the law into their hands or reprisal attacks warning that the police will not allow that.
He said they Should Continue to sensitize their members on the importance of peaceful and harmonious co-existence among themselves assuring that his command will always collaborate with them in ensuring that they leave in peace in their Community.
He noted that as farming seasons is fast approaching there is the need for them to embark on Public enlightenment among their members to nip in the bud herders and farmers clash in the state.
