The Police Recruitment Board, appointed by the Police Service Commission to oversee the recruitment of Nigerians into the Constable cadre of the Nigeria Police Force, has finalized arrangements for the medical screening phase. Following the computer-based tests conducted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), twenty centres have been confirmed for the medical screening of successful and shortlisted applicants.
The medical screening, a crucial step in the evaluation process, aims to assess applicants' suitability for the job. It follows earlier stages of physical and credentials screening, as well as the computer-based test. Scheduled for April 16th, 2024, the medical examination will span two weeks.
The designated centres for the medical screening include police facilities across various zones, ensuring nationwide coverage and accessibility. These centres encompass key locations such as Kano, Lagos, Yola, Makurdi, Benin, Calabar, Abuja, Lokoja, Umuahia, Sokoto, Osogbo, Bauchi, Ukpo, Katsina, Maiduguri, Yenagoa, Akure, Yobe, Kaduna, and Gusau.
Candidates have been notified of their screening dates and times, with strict adherence to the schedule emphasized. Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Solomon Arase, a retired Inspector General of Police, expressed his prayers for the successful conclusion of the recruitment exercise. He urged applicants to comply with the designated timelines, highlighting the significance of the medical evaluation in the recruitment process.
Successful applicants will proceed to designated Police Colleges for mandatory training.
The Police Recruitment Board, led by Chief Onyemuche Nnamani, Commissioner of the Police Service Commission, comprises key stakeholders from the Nigeria Police Force, Ministry of Police Affairs, Federal Character Commission, Police Trust Fund, and Police Colleges.
