In response to the recent vacancy left by the untimely demise of Hon. Sylvanus Namang, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State has appointed Alhaji Shittu Bamaiyi Yakmut as the new Acting Publicity Secretary.
Alhaji Shittu Bamaiyi Yakmut, a seasoned journalist and proficient administrator, assumes this role following extensive consultations with stakeholders within the party.
His appointment was confirmed by a statement issued by Hon. Rufus Bature, the State Chairman of the APC.
Prior to his new role, Alhaji Shittu Bamaiyi Yakmut served as the spokesperson for the APC's governorship candidate.
His illustrious career includes positions such as General Manager of the Plateau Radio Television Corporation, State Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, and Chief Press Secretary of the Nigerian Mining Corporation.
Furthermore, Alhaji Shittu Bamaiyi Yakmut has held significant governmental roles, including serving as Special Assistant to the Minister for Information and Personal Assistant to Ministers in various capacities.
His extensive experience also extends to his involvement in numerous governmental agencies and boards, including the Plateau Pilgrims Welfare Board and the Small and Medium Enterprises Agency.
Additionally, he has contributed to the boards of the Immigration, Fire Service, and Prisons.
Alhaji Shittu Bamaiyi Yakmut's academic background is equally impressive, having graduated from institutions such as Boys Secondary Gindiri, Nigeria Institute of Journalism, University of Jos, London School of Management, and the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies Kuru.
Hon. Rufus Bature, while extending his congratulations to Alhaji Shittu Bamaiyi Yakmut, emphasized the importance of leveraging his extensive expertise to advance the APC's agenda within Plateau State.
