Nasarawa State Speaker Urges CAN Officials to Prioritize Peace, Unity, and Tolerance

The Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon Danladi Jatau, has urged officials of Christian Association of Nigeria ( CAN) Nasarawa State Chapter to redouble effort in preaching the  message of unity, peace and tolerance to the people of the State.

Speaker Jatau made the call when officials of CAN, Nasarawa State Chapter visited him in his office to pray for him today in Lafia.

Jatau said when people of the state embrace religious and ethnic tolerance, it would go a long way in promoting peace and unity and there will be speedy development.

" I want to sincerely thank you for taking your time to pray for me to succeed.

" Leadership comes from God, God gives leadership to whom he wishes. 

" Please CAN officials, help me preach religious and ethinc tolerance in the interest of peace, unity and development of the State

" Let's work together and forget about religious and political differences for unity, peace and for the overall development of the State as God has reasons for creating us from different backgrounds," he said 
Hon Jatau pledged to carry everybody along and not to fail in his responsibilities.

Earlier, the CAN Chairman, Nasarawa State Rev. Sunday Emmah congratulated and wished the Speaker well in his new assignment. 

" We are here to celebrate and rejoice with you and the House over your emergence as the Speaker of the House 

" May the Spirit of the lord guide, protect and give you more wisdoms as you pilot the affairs of the House," he said 

The CAN Chairman assured the new Speaker of their prayers and support at all times

It would be reported that the visit climaxed with prayers by religious leaders for God's protection, guidance, favours and blessings for the success of the new Speaker.
