Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has received the report of the House Standing Committee on Finance and Appropriation on a Bill for a Law to Authorize the Issue Out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the State and Increase and Re-Adjustment of the Sum of N8, 173, 454, 224. 22k  making a total of N157, 489, 398,431.84 only for the Services of Nasarawa State Government to complement for the Period Commencing from January 2023 and Ending 31st December, 2023.

Rt. Hon Danladi Jatau, the Speaker of the House received the report after the chairman of the Committee, Hon Hudu A Hudu presented the committee's report during the House proceedings today in Lafia.

The Speaker said that the bill, if passed into law would bring speedy development in the State.

" The committee recommend that any adjustment and increase of funds to any economic code must be justified.

" The committee is recommending for approval of the total sum of N8, 173,454, 334.22 as total adjustment and supplementary in the 2023 budget.

" The committee also recommending for approval of the total sum of N8,173, 454,334.22) as total revenue to take care of the adjustment and supplementary for the 2023 budget," he said 

The Speaker slated tomorrow Tuesday for the third reading of the bill.

" I slate tomorrow for the final reading of this bill," he said.

Earlier, Hon Suleiman Yakubu Azara, the new Majority Leader of the House moved a motion for the adoption of the committee report.

Hon  Luka Iliya Zhekaba, the Deputy Minority Leader seconded the motion.

The House unanimously adopted the committee report.
