The Chairman of, Nasarawa State Board of Internal Revenue Service, Prince Ahmed Yakubu Mai-Sule, has reassured people of the state's that Governor Abdullahi Sule will further improve the lives of citizens beyond his current efforts.
He made this statement in an exclusive interview with our correspondent recently in Lafia, the administrative headquarters of Nasarawa State.
Prince Mai-Sule pointed out that Governor Sule has significant plans for the state's populace once the apex court affirms his mandate.
"We are confident and resolute that we will still secure our victory at the upper court because it truthfully reflects what transpired during the polls.
"His Excellency Engineer Abdullahi Sule won his election fairly, and the Supreme Court will only reaffirm it so that we can put this matter to rest."
"What I equally assert here is that Governor Sule will undoubtedly do more in his efforts to ensure that indigenes of the state enjoy the dividends of democracy, regardless of tribe, religion, or political party lines," he stated.
Speaking on revenue generation, Prince Ahmed Yakubu Mai-Sule vowed that they would continue their job and ensure that people receive the dividends of the taxes they pay.
"Regarding reciprocity, when you pay tax, you expect to see how your tax contributions are utilized. On our part, we will ensure this is done to encourage more contributions for further development."
The State Executive Chairman of NBIRS, Prince Mai-Sule, emphasized that taxes would be used for the provision of roads, schools, hospitals, and other developmental projects directly impacting their lives.
"Let me reemphasize that the people of Nasarawa state will receive more than what they have under the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Sule as soon as the Supreme Court concludes its proceedings."
"While appealing to the taxpayers to view the prompt payment of taxes as their civic responsibilities and duties, so that the government can provide them with basic necessities.
Prince Mai-Sule commended Governor Sule for granting them autonomy, similar to other government agencies that are self-independent in discharging their responsibilities.
With evident excitement on his face following the approval of autonomy, the Executive Chairman told our correspondent that they swiftly swung into action.
"When we received the approval, our first priority was to ensure we provided working tools for our staff. You can't expect your officers to be in the field without the necessary working facilities, and we have addressed that," he said.
"We equipped them with motorcycles, laptops, printers with full internet services, and renovated offices to create a conducive working environment.
Additionally, we provided vehicles for those working outside the headquarters because we have offices in Lagos and Abuja, requiring mobility to operate smoothly."
"Furthermore, the board has introduced a staff motivation initiative to encourage them, aiming to enhance revenue collection for the state to the best of our ability and ensure the state's revenue continues to grow."
