Bauchi Radio MD, Umar Shira Emerges BON Zonal Chairman

Managing Director of the Bauchi State Radio Corporation (BRC), Umar Muhammad Shira, has been elected as Zonal Chairman, Zone B of the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) unopposed.
Umar Muhammad Shira was elected unopposed recently according to Yemisi Bamgbose, Executive Secretary.

In a letter signed by the Executive Secretary and addressed to the new Zonal Chairman, Yemisi Bamgbose wrote, “This is to inform you that you have been elected unopposed as the Zonal Chairman, Zone B of the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON).”
Yemisi Bamgbose further said while congratulating the new Zonal Chairman on the victory, the Secretariat hopes that his tenure will consolidate the achievements of his predecessors and bring unity among BON member stations in his zone.
On the inauguration, the Secretary General wrote, “The outgoing Chairman in conjunction with the BON Head Office will notify you and other members when and where your inauguration will take place.”
Umar Muhammad Shira is a Nigerian media professional from Bauchi State who is best known for serving as the Managing Director of the Bauchi Radio Corporation (BRC) being appointed by Governor Bala Muhammad because of his commitment and professionalism in discharging his responsibility.
The state government described him as an experienced media professional with a strong background in broadcasting and media management, expressing confidence that he would improve the corporation’s professionalism and public service.
Since his appointment, he has publicly reaffirmed BRC’s commitment to upholding the Nigerian Broadcasting Code and promoting ethical, balanced broadcasting.
Meanwhile the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Bauchi State Council has extended its appreciation to the MD BRC for his election and wishes him well throughout his career and service to the country.
