Ex-Nasarawa Speaker Balarabe Urges Couples to Uphold Marital Values at Onairo's Daughter's Wedding

Former Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has urged married couples to uphold the ethics and values of marriage to build peaceful, stable and egalitarian homes.
Balarabe gave the advice on Friday during the wedding Fatiha of Princess Aisha Yusuf Onairo, daughter of the Permanent Secretary, Government House, Lafia, Alhaji Umar Idris Onairo.
He advised the newly married couple to avoid third-party interference in their marriage and embrace sincerity, mutual understanding, openness and genuine love as the foundation of a successful home.
According to the former Speaker, strict adherence to the principles of marriage remains the key to sustaining peaceful family life and raising responsible generations.
He congratulated the couple and prayed Almighty Allah to bless their union with peace, love, good health and righteous children.
The Chief Imam pronounced the couple husband and wife after all Islamic marriage requirements were fulfilled, including the payment of a dowry of N200,000.
Jamilu Musa represented the groom's family, while Suleiman Muhammed stood in for the bride's family during the marriage proceedings.
The ceremony attracted government officials, Government House staff, the former Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia, Prof. Shehu Abdul-Rahman, associates, friends, well-wishers and members of the Umaisha community, who attended in solidarity with the Onairo family, descendants of the late Ohimege Opanda, HRH Alhaji Usman Idris Onairo.
Rt. Hon. Balarabe attended the ceremony alongside the member representing Keana Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Mohammed Adamu Omadefu; former member representing Toto/Gadabuke Constituency, Hon. Usman Labaran Shafa; the Special Adviser to the Governor, Alhaji Mohammed Usman (Understand); the Deputy Clerk (Finance) of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Alkali Haruna, and other dignitaries.
Special prayers were offered for the newlyweds, leaders at all levels, Nasarawa State and Nigeria.
