NDC Guber Aspirant Mai Doya Urges Party Unity, Mobilisation Ahead of 2027 Elections

Says Party Must Capitalise on APC's Challenges to Secure Victory
By Suleiman  Abubakar Rimi Uku

A frontline governorship aspirant of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Abdullahi Yakubu Mai Doya, has called on party members and stakeholders to remain united and committed to building a formidable political platform capable of winning future elections.

Speaking during the NDC State Congress held at Savanna Guest Inn, Lafia, Mai Doya emphasized that the party should not exist merely as a political association but as a vehicle prepared to secure electoral victories and provide quality leadership to the people.

He noted that while political parties often face internal challenges, members must remain focused on strengthening the party rather than pursuing personal interests after securing political positions.

The governorship hopeful urged party candidates and supporters to embrace collective responsibility and work towards expanding the party's grassroots support base across the state.

According to him, recent political developments across the country indicate growing public dissatisfaction with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), creating a strategic opportunity for opposition parties to reposition themselves ahead of future elections.

Mai Doya referenced the political realignments involving prominent national figures and stressed the need for NDC members to take advantage of emerging opportunities within Nigeria's political landscape.

He called on party leaders, candidates and supporters to remain steadfast, united and focused on the larger objective of providing an alternative platform for Nigerians seeking credible leadership.

The aspirant further encouraged members not to be discouraged by political obstacles, insisting that perseverance, commitment and effective mobilisation would ultimately strengthen the party's chances at the polls.

He also urged aspirants and party officials to adhere to the party's guidelines and directives throughout the electoral process, emphasizing discipline and internal cohesion as critical factors for success.

Mai Doya concluded by expressing confidence in the future of the NDC, assuring party faithful that with unity, determination and strategic planning, the party could emerge as a major political force in Nasarawa State and across the country ahead of the 2027 general elections.
