An eight Man executive council of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Minna, have all been elected unopposed in an election conducted at the court room of the Minna High Court number nine.
With only one of the contestants disqualified for not meeting the criteria of the Association constitutional requirement.
The new executives are to pilot the affairs of the Association in the next two years
The newly elected members of the NBA include Ibrahim Mohammed Ndamitso as the Chairman, Jibrin Abdallah,Vice Chairman,Solomon Moses Jiya,as the Secretary, and Isah Abdullahi Lapai,Assistant Secretary Favour Abraham treasurer.
Others are Denis Noel Berje Financial Secretary,Celestine Audu Welfare Officer the post of Public Relation Officer went to Debora Achanya and Okebe John elected as the Provost.
Speaking shortly after the election,the Chairman of the Minna Branch of NBA Electoral Committee,Ahmed Salihu explained that all the elected members of the executive committee met the constitutional provision of the Association bylaw with only one that was disqualified for not meeting the provision of the law.
He said the newly elected executive members will be inaugurated on a new date to be announced after which the electoral committee will round up their assignment.
In his acceptance remarks,the new chairman assured members of the Association,of involving every member of the branch in the activities of the Association stressing the needs for members to extend their unwavering cooperation for him to achieve.
He noted that the confidence reposed in him by electing will not be successful without their support adding that members should see the NBA Minna Branch as one united family that should join hands with its executive leadership with the needed passion.
He assured that his two years administration will not let members down, stating that their welfare will be given the desired priority during his two years tenure.
He thanks members of the electoral committee for conducting the election in a peaceful and rancour free atmosphere assuring that his leadership will transform the Minna of the NBA to the next level.
