FULafia to Hold 44th Inaugural Lecture on June 24

The Federal University of Lafia has concluded arrangements for its 44th Inaugural Lecture Series, scheduled to hold on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the university's Inaugural Lecture Committee, the event will be chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Isa Kida, while the inaugural lecture will be delivered by Professor Mallam Al-Bishak.
The lecture is titled "Egyptology, Egyptomania and Khemetology: Literature and the Black African Literary Masters of Homer, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Etc." It will also feature a photo exhibition of ancient artifacts.
The statement noted that the Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate and the entire university community, has extended an invitation to members of the public to attend the academic event.
The lecture is scheduled to commence at 2:00 p.m. at the MIS Multipurpose Hall, Permanent Site Campus, Federal University of Lafia.
The committee further disclosed that a book presentation titled "Voices for Al-Bishak," an anthology of poems edited by Ebika Anthony in honour of Professor Al-Bishak, will take place immediately after the inaugural lecture.
The university described the event as another milestone in its commitment to scholarship, intellectual discourse and the promotion of academic excellence.
