APC's Envulu-Aza Clinches Nasarawa North Senatorial Seat, Defeats Maku, Ombugadu
INEC Declares APC Candidate Winner of 2026 By-Election with 45,362 Votes

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Halilu Danladi Envulu-Aza, as the winner of the 2026 Nasarawa North Senatorial District By-Election.
The declaration followed the conclusion of the collation of results from across the five local government areas that make up the senatorial district.
According to the official results released by INEC, Envulu-Aza secured a total of 45,362 votes to emerge victorious in the keenly contested poll.
His closest challenger, Labaran Maku of the Labour Party (LP), polled 12,931 votes, while the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Emmanuel David Ombugadu, garnered 11,570 votes.
Other contestants in the election recorded significantly lower vote totals.
Announcing the result, the Returning Officer stated that the APC candidate satisfied all constitutional and legal requirements and was therefore duly returned elected as Senator representing Nasarawa North Senatorial District.
The victory marks another electoral success for the APC in Nasarawa State and reinforces the party's political dominance in the senatorial zone.
The by-election was conducted to fill the vacant Nasarawa North Senatorial seat, with voters across the district turning out to elect a new representative in the National Assembly.
