2027: Ex-Speaker Balarabe Backs Ogazi for Reps, Predicts Electoral Victory
Describes APC candidate as one of Nasarawa Assembly's finest lawmakers, urges Keffi, Karu and Kokona constituents to support him
The immediate past Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has endorsed the member representing Kokona East Constituency, Hon. Daniel Ogah Ogazi, for the House of Representatives, describing him as a credible and marketable candidate capable of delivering quality representation.
Balarabe made the remarks on Monday in Lafia when Hon. Ogazi, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Keffi/Karu/Kokona Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, paid him a courtesy visit to present his nomination form and seek his blessings.
The former Speaker described Ogazi as one of the most experienced legislators the Nasarawa State House of Assembly has produced, citing his deep knowledge of lawmaking, commitment to constituency development, and dedication to public service.
"As far as I am concerned, Hon. Daniel Ogah Ogazi remains one of the best and most experienced lawmakers the Nasarawa State House of Assembly has ever produced.
He understands legislative business, represents his people effectively, and has consistently demonstrated commitment to their welfare," Balarabe said.
He noted that Ogazi's achievements during his 11 years in the State Assembly had prepared him adequately for national legislative responsibilities.
"I can confidently testify to his performance and purposeful representation.
Having served three consecutive terms in the State Assembly, he has acquired the experience required to excel as a member of the House of Representatives," he added.
Recalling their years of working together, Balarabe said Ogazi served meritoriously as Deputy Majority Leader and Chairman of the House Committee on Education during his tenure as Speaker.
"Ogazi was one of the finest hands in the Assembly while I was Speaker. I can stand for him anywhere because of his competence, integrity and legislative experience," he stated.
Expressing optimism about the forthcoming election, Balarabe said Ogazi is well-positioned to emerge victorious.
"Ogazi is a good product, and I am optimistic that he will emerge victorious by the grace of God.
The people of Keffi, Karu and Kokona Federal Constituency will be fortunate to have him because he will change the narrative through quality representation," he said.
The former Speaker called on voters across the three local government areas to rally behind the APC candidate to enable him to attract greater democratic dividends to the constituency.
Responding, Hon. Daniel Ogah Ogazi thanked Balarabe for his continued support, encouragement and prayers, assuring the people of Keffi, Karu and Kokona Federal Constituency of inclusive and effective representation if elected.
Ogazi, who is serving his third consecutive term representing Kokona East Constituency in the Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Assemblies, previously served as Deputy Majority Leader and Chairman of the House Committee on Education.
Before his election into the State Assembly, he also served as Commissioner under the administration of former Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.
