2027: Ex-Nasarawa Speaker Balarabe Endorses Al-Bashir for Reps, Predicts Landslide Victory
Former Speaker passes vote of confidence on APC candidate, says he is the best man for Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency as Al-Bashir pledges not to disappoint the people

Former Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has passed a vote of confidence on the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency seat, Hon. Muhammed Yarima Al-Bashir, describing him as the best candidate for the position and predicting a landslide victory in the 2027 general election.
Balarabe, who is the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Damaturu, Yobe State, made the declaration when Al-Bashir paid him a courtesy visit in Lafia on Monday to present his Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination form.
The former Speaker congratulated the APC flag bearer on his emergence at the party's primary election and assured him of his unwavering support, as well as that of his political associates, ahead of the 2027 polls.
He expressed confidence in Al-Bashir's competence and leadership capacity to effectively represent the people of Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency if elected, urging him to remain humble and carry all stakeholders along in the discharge of his responsibilities.
Balarabe also appealed to the people of Nasarawa and Toto Local Government Areas to rally behind the APC candidate, saying his election would attract meaningful representation and development to the constituency.
Responding, Hon. Muhammed Yarima Al-Bashir appreciated the former Speaker for his fatherly guidance, encouragement and endorsement.
He pledged not to betray the confidence reposed in him, assuring the people of Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency of quality, inclusive and people-oriented representation if elected into the House of Representatives in 2027.
"I will not fail my people. I remain committed to serving with integrity, fairness and dedication to ensure our constituency enjoys effective representation and sustainable development," Al-Bashir said.
