SDP Disowns Ajegna, Fixes May 18, 19 Congresses

The leadership of the Social Democratic Party in Nasarawa State has distanced itself from announcements allegedly issued by Ibrahim Ajegna, declaring that he is not the recognized chairman of the party in the state.
The State Chairman of the party, Hon. Danlami Mohammed Musa, made the clarification during a telephone interview with journalists, insisting that the party remains united under its legitimate leadership.
Hon. Musa announced that the party’s state congresses are scheduled to hold on May 18 and 19, 2026, while the national convention is expected to take place on May 28, 2026.
He urged party members, supporters, and stakeholders to disregard statements credited to Ajegna, describing them as unauthorized and misleading.
According to him, the Independent National Electoral Commission had declared Ajegna’s purported chairmanship illegal, maintaining that due process was not followed in the emergence of the alleged leadership.
The SDP chairman further stated that the court had reaffirmed the leadership of Shehu Gabam as the authentic national chairman of the party.
