Nasarawa Govt Orders Immediate Withdrawal of Lideal Mines From Udege With Immediate Effect
Security Agencies Deployed to Enforce Compliance, Halt Mining Operations

The Nasarawa State Government has ordered the immediate withdrawal of Lideal Mines Company from Endo Community in Udege Development Area of Nasarawa Local Government Area with immediate effect.
The directive was announced by the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Margaret Elayo, during a press briefing held on the directive of the Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule.
Dr. Elayo said the decision followed extensive stakeholder consultations, security reports, and developments surrounding mining activities within the affected cadastral units.
According to her, the company has been directed to immediately withdraw all operational facilities, mining machinery, trucks, equipment, and personnel from the mining site, while all forms of mining activities and movement of raw materials have also been suspended with immediate effect.
She explained that the action was taken in the overriding public interest and forms part of the state government’s commitment to promoting lawful mining operations, responsible investment, local value addition, community participation, and sustainable economic development.
The Commissioner emphasized that Governor Sule’s administration remains resolute in ensuring that mining companies operating in the state comply with government policies and contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of host communities through the establishment of functional processing facilities.
Dr. Elayo further disclosed that security agencies would be deployed to the affected mining location to ensure total compliance with the government directive and prevent any unauthorized activity within the area.
She reaffirmed the commitment of the Nasarawa State Government to maintaining an enabling environment for genuine investors while ensuring strict adherence to operational guidelines, laws, and developmental objectives of the state.
The Commissioner appealed to host communities, mining operators, and other stakeholders to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and cooperate fully with government authorities during the enforcement process.
