JOURNALISTS, POLICE TIGHT WORKING RELATIONSHIP

Nigerian Police Force and Nigeria Union of Journalists have tighten working to create synergy between two bodies for smooth operations.
This is was ensured when leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Zaria Unit led by its Chairman, Mal Sagir Auwal paid a courtesy visit on Area Commander, Nigerian Force, Zaria Area Command, ACP Abdulrahman Idris in his office on Tuesday.
Speaking at the occasion the Union Chairman said the visit was meant cement the existing relationship between his Union and the Police.
Mal Auwal explained that the union and Police were partners in progress for long adding "we will continue to partner Police in the interest of Country"
Mal Auwal called for the support of the police for additional protection to Journalists in discharging their duties
Responding the area Commander thanked the union for the visit, saying such a visit would no doubt bring about understanding and cordially working relationship between Journalists and Men of the Police.
ACP Idris advised Politicians to guide their Social Teams against misuse of their various handles like Facebook, Tweeter, TikTok or the like as the 2027 elections approaches
He lamented over the abuse of the social media handles by unprofessional practitioners employed by the politicians to promote their political missions.
This according to him, unnecessary heating of the polity, aggreviates crimes rate and incites violence even before the conduct of the 2027 electioneering activities.
He tasks the union to work with key stakeholders to develop mordalities of addressing the challenge.
The Area Commander reiterated the commitment of the police to implement the relevant laws in checkmating cybercrimes such as bullying, stalking among others.
