Former Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government and 2019 governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Philip Dada, has endorsed the governorship aspiration of Senator Aliyu Wadada ahead of the 2027 elections, describing him as the right person to sustain the developmental strides of Governor Abdullahi Sule.

Dada also commended Governor Sule for what he termed remarkable infrastructural development across Nasarawa State, saying the administration has recorded visible achievements in governance, road construction and economic growth.

Speaking on the political future of the state, the APC chieftain said the current administration had laid a solid foundation for sustainable development despite challenges confronting the state.
According to him, projects executed by the Sule administration have positively impacted communities across the three senatorial districts.

He stressed that the achievements recorded by the APC-led government make it necessary for the party to retain power in 2027 in order to consolidate on existing gains.

Dada therefore appealed to governorship aspirants within the APC to conduct their activities peacefully and place the interest of the party above personal ambition.

He urged party leaders and stakeholders to work towards reconciling aggrieved members and strengthening unity within the party ahead of the elections.

Throwing his weight behind Senator Wadada, Dada described the lawmaker as a humble, experienced and detribalised politician committed to unity and development.

According to him, Wadada enjoys widespread acceptance across ethnic and religious lines because of his inclusive leadership style and longstanding relationship with people from different backgrounds.

“Senator Wadada is a detribalised leader who relates with everybody equally irrespective of tribe, religion or gender. His political and business associates cut across all sections of society,” he stated.

The former SSG also praised Wadada for his loyalty to the APC, recalling that the senator accepted defeat in a previous governorship contest and later worked for the success of the candidate who emerged victorious.

He described the gesture as a demonstration of political maturity and commitment to party unity.

On zoning, Dada maintained that the governorship position should return to Nasarawa West Senatorial District in 2027 in line with the principles of equity and fairness.

He explained that since the return of democracy in 1999, the governorship seat had rotated from Nasarawa West to Nasarawa South and currently Nasarawa North.

According to him, returning the position to Nasarawa West would sustain political balance and promote justice among the senatorial districts.

Dada appealed to the people of the state to support Senator Wadada and the APC in order to ensure continuity, peace and political stability in Nasarawa State.
