The Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Mr. Alfred Emberga, has commended Hyacinth Alia for what he described as remarkable developmental strides and transformational leadership in Benue State.
This was contained in a goodwill message issued on Tuesday in Makurdi by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Mr. Zape Upaa, ahead of the governor’s 60th birthday celebration scheduled for Friday.
Emberga described Governor Alia as a visionary and people-oriented leader whose administration has continued to redefine governance through purposeful leadership, infrastructural renewal, and inclusive development across the state.
According to the Speaker, the Alia administration has recorded significant achievements in key sectors including security, agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructure, industrialisation, and public sector reforms.
He noted that the governor’s commitment to restoring peace and stability in troubled communities had strengthened public confidence in government, while ongoing road construction and urban renewal projects had improved economic activities and connectivity in various parts of the state.
The Speaker further applauded the administration’s interventions in the education and healthcare sectors, stressing that the renovation of schools, recruitment of qualified personnel, and improvement of healthcare facilities had renewed hope among the people.
Emberga also highlighted Governor Alia’s efforts in repositioning agriculture and empowering youths and women through economic and social initiatives aimed at boosting productivity and self-reliance.
He stated that the achievements recorded within the three years of the administration reflected the governor’s determination to place Benue State on the path of sustainable growth and development.
“As Governor Alia marks his 60th birthday and third anniversary in office, the people of Benue have every reason to celebrate a leader committed to service, accountability, and the welfare of citizens,” the Speaker said.
He prayed for God’s continued wisdom, strength, and good health for the governor as he continues to pilot the affairs of the state toward greater progress and prosperity.
