NASEMA DG, Akwash, Highlights One-Year Stewardship

The Director General of the Nasarawa State Emergency Management Agency (NASEMA), Hon. Barrister Benjamin Akwash, has presented an account of his one-year stewardship in office during a press briefing held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre in Lafia.
Addressing journalists, Akwash outlined key achievements, challenges, and strategic interventions undertaken by the agency within the past year, emphasizing NASEMA’s commitment to effective disaster management and humanitarian response across the state.
He noted that under his leadership, the agency has strengthened its emergency response mechanisms, enhanced collaboration with relevant stakeholders, and improved support for communities affected by natural and man-made disasters.
The DG also reaffirmed the agency’s resolve to build on existing successes while exploring innovative approaches to mitigate risks and ensure timely intervention in emergency situations.
Akwash appreciated the support of the Nasarawa State Government and other partners, calling for sustained cooperation from the media and the public to achieve the agency’s mandate.
The briefing provided an opportunity for interaction with journalists, as the NASEMA boss responded to questions and clarified issues relating to the agency’s operations over the past year.
