The ancient town of Keffi in Nasarawa State was thrown into a festive atmosphere as thousands of supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), political associates, friends, and well-wishers converged to receive Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada following his endorsement as the preferred governorship candidate ahead of the 2027 elections.
The massive turnout, which brought the town to a standstill, followed the recent announcement by Governor Abdullahi Sule, who publicly anointed Wadada as his choice to succeed him at the end of his tenure.
Supporters, drawn from across the state and beyond, flooded Wadada’s residence in Keffi, chanting slogans and expressing confidence in his leadership capacity.
The atmosphere was charged with excitement as party loyalists described the endorsement as a step toward continuity, stability, and sustained development in Nasarawa State.
Many of the attendees praised Governor Sule for what they termed a bold and strategic decision, noting that Wadada’s political experience and track record make him a formidable candidate to lead the state into the future.
Political observers say the development has further reshaped the political landscape in Nasarawa State, signaling early realignments within the APC and setting the tone for the 2027 governorship race.
While addressing the crowd, supporters reiterated their commitment to mobilizing grassroots backing to ensure victory for Wadada, describing the endorsement as a call to action for party unity and consolidation.
