The Director General of the Nasarawa State Emergency Management Agency (NASEMA), Hon. Barrister Benjamin Akwash, has disclosed that the agency provided extensive support to internally displaced persons (IDPs) across several parts of the state within the past year.

Speaking during a press briefing at the NUJ Press Centre in Lafia,

Akwash stated that NASEMA intervened in communities including Toto, Kadarko, Doma, Giza, Mama, and Jibel, among others, where many residents were displaced due to crises and natural disasters.

He explained that the agency not only delivered humanitarian assistance to affected populations but also played a key role in coordinating the safe return of displaced persons to their respective communities.

According to him, the interventions were part of deliberate efforts to restore normalcy, ensure the safety of affected residents, and support community rebuilding initiatives.

Akwash reaffirmed NASEMA’s commitment to sustaining humanitarian support and strengthening response strategies to address displacement challenges across Nasarawa State.
