Pharm. Victor Terah Patrick has formally declared his intention to contest for the Nasarawa West Senatorial seat at the National Assembly in the 2027 general elections, signaling a major development in the political landscape of Nasarawa State.
The grassroots politician and technocrat made his ambition known amid growing calls from supporters and stakeholders across Karu, Keffi, Kokona, and Nasarawa Local Government Areas, who have consistently urged him to step forward and offer experienced representation at the Senate.
In his declaration, Pharm. Patrick emphasized his commitment to providing effective, people-oriented leadership anchored on inclusiveness, development, and responsive governance.
He noted that his decision was driven by the need to deepen representation and ensure that the voices of the people of Nasarawa West are adequately heard at the National Assembly.
“I am stepping forward to serve, to represent, and to contribute meaningfully to the development of our senatorial district and the nation at large,” he stated.
Pharm. Patrick, a seasoned administrator, brings with him decades of experience in both public service and private sector leadership.
He previously served as Commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development in Nasarawa State (2018–2019), where he played a role in advancing rural infrastructure and water access initiatives.
His political background also includes serving as Secretary of Karu Local Government Council (1999–2002) and contesting for the House of Representatives seat for Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency in 1999 and 2003, demonstrating a longstanding commitment to democratic engagement.
Within party structures, he has remained active, contributing to various APC campaign organizations, including the Tinubu/Shettima Grassroots Independent Campaign Council (ICC) and the Nasarawa State APC Campaign Council in 2022.
Beyond politics, Pharm. Patrick is a respected technocrat and corporate leader.
He currently serves as Chief Operations Officer of Trans Sahara Consortium Limited, in partnership with the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI).
He is also Chairman of the Governing Board of the Nigeria Natural Medicine Development Agency (NNMDA), Lagos, and Chairman of Nasarawa Transport and Logistics Company Limited (NTC).
Political observers believe his declaration will intensify competition for the Nasarawa West Senatorial seat, given his grassroots appeal, administrative experience, and cross-sector exposure.
Stakeholders across the district have begun reacting to the development, with many describing his entry into the race as timely and reflective of the growing demand for experienced and accessible leadership.
As consultations and political alignments continue ahead of the 2027 elections, Pharm. Victor Terah Patrick’s declaration is expected to reshape the dynamics of the senatorial contest in Nasarawa West.
