The Nasarawa State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Isaac Danladi, has led officials of the Ministry of Justice in a strategic engagement with the Project Implementation Committee of the University of Public Relations and Leadership, Gudi, over the implementation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) guiding the establishment of the institution.
The meeting, which took place at Justice House, Lafia, had in attendance the Director of Legal Drafting in the Ministry of Justice, Barr. Felix Dza, and State Counsel Barr. Raymond Umar Akolo, alongside members of the university project committee led by Professor Emmanuel DanDaura.
Discussions during the high-level engagement centered on aligning and clarifying key legal provisions contained in the MoU between the Nasarawa State Ministry of Justice and the promoters of the proposed university, with the aim of ensuring proper legal backing for the smooth take-off of the institution.
Officials explained that the deliberation was aimed at strengthening the legal framework required for the university’s operational take-off while ensuring that all procedures conform with established legal and regulatory standards.
It would be recalled that Governor Abdullahi Sule performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the University of Public Relations and Leadership on December 26, 2025, signaling the official commencement of the project.
The university, located in Gudi, Akwanga Local Government Area, is expected to be formally inaugurated around November 20, 2026.
Stakeholders at the meeting described the engagement as a significant milestone in advancing the project, noting that the involvement of the Ministry of Justice will ensure the institution operates on a solid legal foundation in line with the state government’s commitment to expanding higher education and leadership development opportunities in Nasarawa State.
