Lafia Erupts in Excitement as Baraden Nasarawa Declares 2027 Governorship Ambition

The city of Lafia was thrown into a festive mood as residents and political supporters gathered in large numbers for Baraden Nasarawa, Hon. Musa Ahmed Mohammed, amid heightened political anticipation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Addressing the jubilant crowd, Hon. Mohammed announced his decision to resign from his position as Accountant General of Nasarawa State, describing the move as a personal sacrifice made in the best interest of the people and the state.
He stated that his decision followed growing calls from supporters who have expressed confidence in his leadership capacity and vision for the state.
“I have decided to make this sacrifice in the best interest of the good people of Nasarawa State who believe in my leadership,” he declared.
The former Accountant General expressed profound appreciation to Governor Abdullahi Sule for approving his appointment during his tenure, noting that the experience gained under the current administration has adequately prepared him for higher responsibility.
“I want to sincerely thank my boss, His Excellency, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, for the opportunity to serve. Being part of this government has given me invaluable experience,” he said.
Hon. Mohammed formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election, assuring supporters of his readiness to build on the achievements of the present administration.
“I have accepted your calls and hereby offer myself to serve as Governor in 2027. By the grace of God and with your support, victory will be ours,” he added.
He further pledged to sustain and expand the developmental strides of the Sule administration, emphasizing continuity and consolidation as key pillars of his ambition.
“I will continue from where my principal stops. I am part of this government and understand its vision and direction,” he affirmed.
The declaration has since sparked widespread reactions across the state’s political landscape, with analysts predicting a significant reshaping of the 2027 governorship race in Nasarawa State.
